Summer Internship Program

Join us this summer!

Interns will have the opportunity to job shadow our Directors, experiencing the fullness of how Second Chance Global works internationally as a faith-based non-profit organization. Interns will receive professional and spiritual mentorship throughout the internship program.

Full-time and part-time positions are available. Internships are mostly remote, with potential for some US travel and an invitation to join an international team trip. Preference will be considered for applicants available for an in-person internship in Knoxville, Tennessee.

This is not a paid internship.

  • A Non-profit Management Intern will primarily work on behind the scenes details that are critical to how the organization runs, including areas such as management, safety, finances, legal, etc.

    Qualifications

    Must be 18 years or older

    Must be eligible to work in the USA

    This internship position requires organizational skills, critical thinking, and the ability to be detail oriented.

    Due to the remote nature of this internship, the Intern will also need to be self-motivated and able to manage their time well.

    Some experience or coursework in business, nonprofit, or church management / leadership.

    Job Responsibilities

    Assist in day-to-day operations of the organization as a whole.

    Project management and nonprofit sector training would be available.

    Collaborate with SCG Staff on various projects

  • Second Chance Global greatly values the gift of storytelling. Storytelling is a powerful tool to share about what is going on in the international communities we serve and to communicate those stories in a way that is engaging and moves our audience towards action.

    A Communications Intern will have the opportunity to join an international team trip to meet our local leaders and have firsthand experience of how we serve our communities. It will then be the Communications Intern’s responsibility to create and tell those stories through various platforms and aspects of our organization.

    This internship position requires creative, communication, and organizational skills.

    Due to the remote nature of this internship, the Intern will also need to be self-motivated and able to manage their time well.

    Job Responsibilities

    Strategize, implement, and develop stories from our international communities and tell those stories

    Create content for online marketing strategies

    Including opportunities to provide input toward these strategies

    Design and organize content for campaigns and fundraising needs

    If applicable, including some graphic design for online posts

    Collaborate with SCG Staff and Ambassadors

  • The Campaign Internship is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience developing and implementing fundraising campaigns. This will be done by assisting the Second Chance Executive Director with developing campaigns and the marketing associated with these campaigns.

    Job Responsibilities

    Work with a highly collaborative team to brainstorm ideas to activate supporters around campaigns for Second Chance Global.

    Event Communication

    Design and organize content for campaigns and fundraising needs

    If applicable, some graphic design for online posts

    Work closely with Social Media Intern on campaign content for social media accounts.

    Collaborate with SCG Staff and Ambassadors

  • Second Chance Global relies heavily on building and maintaining relationships with our partners and donors. The Partnerships Intern will primarily focus on working with SCG partners and donors to help them feel connected with SCG and our Mission.

    This internship position requires communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

    Due to the remote nature of this internship, the Intern will also need to be self-motivated and able to manage their time well.

    Job Responsibilities

    Assist in managing church partnership connection points

    Coordinating appreciation for generosity so that no partner gets overlooked

    Manage donor connection points so that no donor gets overlooked for their generosity

    Help organize and attend trips and events around the US

    Weekly meetings for professional development and spiritual mentorship
